Welcome to vss-graz.com. Variable Structure Systems (VSS) with particular focus on Sliding Mode Control (SMC) has become a major research area at the Institute of Automation and Control at Graz University of Technology.

Besides carrying out active research which focuses on both, theory and applications of VSS and SMC, we are keen to push the VSS and SMC community forward by organizing and hosting related activities. These events gather people who already are involved in this field and also people who want to get in touch with the ideas of VSS and SMC and moreover with the people actively promoting it.

Our two main upcoming events are

• the Summer School on SMC in 2017 and
• the IEEE International Workshop on Variable Structure Systems and Sliding Mode Control 2018, VSS2018.

16th International Workshop on Variable Structure Systems and Sliding Mode Control 2020 (VSS2020)

VSS20 will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The conference will be from September 9 - 11. More information about VSS20 can be found here.
